We met on Facebook Dating -- an online dating app that many people don't realize even exists. We joke that we were the only ones on it. After exchanging a few messages in August 2020, our first date was at a Firkin Pub in Toronto. We sat for hours chatting and closed the place down. By December we were an official "pandemic couple" -- and are certain that we will be studied in the years to come. Boris popped the question while we were traveling in Pittsburgh under Fourth of July fireworks in 2022. Our wedding was Oct 8th 2023.
I heard about Chic Bridals through The Wedding Show
My favourite colour is red and I knew that I wanted to deviate from having a traditional white dress. I also knew I wanted an A-line or ball gown, with waist definition. I was unsure about whether or not I wanted sleeves so I was open to seeing what felt right in that regard.
My experience at Chic Bridals was great - Noor was amazing and Sky was a big help! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in good hands. I loved their openness to customization and their enthusiasm for me and my big day. I felt like I had two extra bridesmaids helping me!
There were several dresses in the boutique that fit me well -- I liked so many of them! But I love the one I chose. I especially enjoyed the idea of having a dress that was the intersection of a classic ball gown and a non-traditional colour. I tried it on in white, but Noor pinned a swatch of the red fabric to the top, so I could get the feel for what it would be like when it was customized and I knew in that moment, it was the dress for me!
